Terms of Service

Last updated 2026-09-05. These terms cover the J-FOMO website and the installable J-FOMO app (together, "J-FOMO" or "the service"). The privacy notice is a separate page.

1. What J-FOMO is

J-FOMO is a calendar of limited-time releases, campaigns and events in Japan ("drops"), compiled from public announcements made by the companies, shops, temples, shrines and venues that run them (the "official sources"). For every drop we show the Japanese title as published, a rendering in the language you choose, the dates and conditions as we understood them, and a link to the official source.

J-FOMO is operated by L Doctor Citizen LLC, a New Mexico limited liability company ("we", "us"). Postal address: 1209 Mountain Road Pl NE, Ste N, Albuquerque, NM 87110, United States.

J-FOMO is an independent, unofficial service. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of any brand, retailer, franchise, rights holder, temple, shrine or venue that appears on it. All product names, series names, logos and trademarks belong to their owners and are used only to identify the drops they refer to.

2. Information, not a promise

The official announcement is authoritative. Dates, times, prices, quantities, participating stores and conditions are taken from official sources and can change, sell out, be postponed or be cancelled without notice. Always check the linked source before you travel or spend money.
Translated titles are renderings. Unless marked "official", the title shown in the language you choose is produced by a translation model and reviewed by automated checks. The Japanese title is the record; where they differ, the Japanese governs.
Dates are Japan Standard Time (JST, UTC+9). "Until sold out", "while stocks last" and similar conditions are shown as conditions, not dates. Some drops are shown at week- or month-level precision because that is all the source states; we do not invent a day.
Map pins are approximate. Venue positions are geocoded from venue names and may be imprecise; "open now" on the map is based on stated opening hours where we have them and on an assumed, clearly labelled window where we do not.
We make no warranty that the service is complete, current, accurate or available. It is provided "as is" and "as available".

3. Using the service

You may use J-FOMO for personal, non-commercial purposes: browsing, planning, and sharing links to J-FOMO pages.
You may not scrape, bulk-download, mirror or resell the service or its data; remove attributions or source links; interfere with the service; or use it to infringe anyone's rights.
The calendar and feed files are for your own calendar or reader. Republishing them as a product is not permitted without our agreement.
There are no user accounts yet. When accounts, saved drops, alerts or subscriptions launch, additional terms will apply and will be shown before you use them.

4. Images, trademarks and takedowns

Images shown on J-FOMO are displayed by linking to the official source's own copy; we do not re-host, crop or serve our own copy of them, and each is attributed to its source. We do this so that readers see the real announcement and rights holders keep control of their material.

We do keep a private working copy of the images we link to, in our own archive. It is used only to keep a record of what a source published on a given day and to work out which image belongs to which listing; it is never published, never served to readers and never offered for download. If you are a rights holder and would rather we did not hold a copy at all, tell us and we will delete it.

If you are a rights holder and want an image, title or listing removed or changed, email takedown@japanfomo.com with the page and the material concerned. We review every request promptly.

5. Links, affiliates and advertising

J-FOMO links to third-party sites. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, availability, pricing or privacy practices.
Some links may be affiliate links (for example to proxy-shopping services that ship Japanese goods overseas). If you buy through one, J-FOMO may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Affiliate links are marked as such.
J-FOMO may show advertising, including sponsored cards and, in the 3D map, sponsored placements. Ads are labelled "Sponsored". Sponsorship never changes whether a drop is listed or what we say about its dates.

6. Your content

If the service lets you submit anything (a tip, a correction, a comment), you give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use it to operate and improve J-FOMO, and you confirm you have the right to submit it. We may decline or remove submissions at our discretion. Today the only way to send us anything is by email.

7. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, L Doctor Citizen LLC and the people who run J-FOMO are not liable for any loss, cost or damage arising from your use of the service or reliance on its information, including travel costs, purchases, missed or sold-out drops, changed dates, or anything on a linked third-party site. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the previous twelve months (currently nothing). Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

8. Privacy

What the site does and does not know about you is set out in the privacy notice: what the site keeps in your browser, which third parties your browser connects to, and how to reach us. Privacy requests: privacy@japanfomo.com.

9. Changes and termination

We may change the service or these terms at any time; the date at the top shows the current version and material changes will be noted on the site. We may suspend or end the service, or your access to it, at any time. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Mexico, United States, and any dispute will be heard in the state or federal courts located in Bernalillo County, New Mexico, without affecting any consumer rights you have under the law of the country you live in.
