What it is

Kirin Beer Co., Ltd. will release the 'Kirin Hyo-kyu® mottainai Plum (Limited Time)' (350ml can, 500ml can) nationwide on October 27, 2026. This product uses out-of-grade plums from Hokkaido Yubari, which would otherwise be discarded due to factors such as over-ripening, wind, or rain. The product aims to reduce food waste by using approximately 350,000 plums, equivalent to about 13.4 tons of fruit. The drink features a juicy sweetness and acidity characteristic of plums, with a fresh carbonation and a refreshing aftertaste.
