Based on this historical connection, Artizon Museum has been holding a return exhibition to introduce the achievements of the Japan Pavilion exhibition at the Venice Biennale to the general public in Japan since its opening in 2020. The artist selected to participate in the Japan Pavilion exhibition in 2026 is Arakawa Nashi MD, a performance artist based in Los Angeles. The exhibition is based on the parenting experience of a queer author who became a parent of twins in 2024. It is an interactive work that involves carrying a baby doll equivalent in weight to a four-month-old infant around the venue, reinterpreting the act of 'care,' which is often confined to private spaces, as a physical experience for visitors, and perceiving it as a social activity. This work, which received high praise in Venice, will be reconfigured and introduced at Artizon Museum as a return exhibition.
