Through their experiences as foreigners (Etouranzes), a wide range of works were created, including basic drawing exercises in art schools, copies in museums, portraits of people they met locally, and landscape paintings from sketching sites. At the same time, these works are also a source of information that eloquently tells what they saw and what they learned. This exhibition focuses on the works of Kuroda Seiki, Fujishima Takeji, Yasui Sōtarō, and Foujita Taro, who studied in Europe, from the Ishibashi Foundation Collection, and presents their fresh charm. In addition, a selection of the museum's collection masterpieces will also be on display in part of the exhibition venue.
