What it is
The 'Kinkyu no Kyoto' event features traditional dance performances at the five flower streets of Kyoto. Dance performances are held annually from early October to mid-November. Among these, the 'Gion Odori' at Gion Higashi is known as the only flower street dance performance that takes place only in autumn, and it is held from November 1st to 10th. The dance performances, as well as the elegant costumes worn by the geiko and maiko, and their expressions and movements, are also a source of enjoyment.
