Tachiuo is a marine fish belonging to the family Serranidae. It is characterized by its long, silver-white body that shines with a sparkle, large eyes, and sharp teeth. It is a carnivorous fish that can grow up to about 1.5 meters in length. It has no scales, and its name is said to be derived from its sword-like (tachi) shape. It is widely distributed in the coastal areas of Japan from Hokkaido to the south, and in temperate and tropical regions. It is also known as a fish that swims upright with its head up, and this is also said to be the origin of its name. In recent years, due to the impact of rising sea temperatures, its distribution area has expanded northward, and the catch has increased in the Pacific side of eastern Japan, which previously had few catches. As a food fish, it is very popular, and its peak season is from summer to autumn. Especially in autumn, it accumulates fat in preparation for winter, making it at its best with rich flavor. - You can download the PDF of this press release here https://prtimes.jp/a/?f=d20364-1170-4bd91ace83ea5f99669cb52bef392812.pdf Event Summary Event Name: 11th November Tachiuo Day Establishment Commemoration Event Location: Sunshine Aquarium (Sunshine City World Import Mart Building, rooftop) Period: October 9 (Friday) - November 15 (Sunday) Admission: Enjoy with the entrance fee of Sunshine Aquarium.
